Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., talks to reporters, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday Jan. 22, 2020. The U.S. Senate plunges into President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial with Republicans abruptly abandoning plans to cram opening arguments into two days but solidly rejecting for now Democratic demands for more witnesses to expose what they deem Trump’s “trifecta” of offenses. The U.S.Senate passed a multibillion-dollar emergency aid package Tuesday.

It’s phase two in a series of bills. The new package follows recent legislation that opened billions in emergency aid money to help fight the spread of the virus. And it paves the way for talks about what could be close to a trillion-dollar stimulus plan.

WLVR’s Tyler Pratt spoke with Pennsylvania U-S Senator Bob Casey yesterday before the vote… about the measures, whether Pennsylvania’s ready for a possible surge in coronavirus cases and how he was planning to vote.
