Four Lehigh Valley cities have used an app called MobileNOW! as a convenient way for residents and visitors to pay for parking at meters.

The company abruptly shut down Monday, citing the impact of COVID-19. WLVR’s Stephen Jiwanmall explains what’s next.

MobileNOW! is no more and for customers who still have money in their accounts, it looks like they won’t get a full refund.

The Maryland-based company posted a statement on its website, saying it needs to go through liquidation before it can start paying back creditors and customers.

Here in the Lehigh Valley, the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton used the app. Now, they’re all looking for a new vendor.

Allentown and Bethlehem are currently enforcing parking meters. Both parking authorities say customers can use other forms of payment like cards and coins.

Easton is not enforcing meters right now. The city plans on putting a new system in place before lifting the suspension.
