Former Vice President Joe Biden is trying to win over female voters in Pennsylvania as he seeks to unseat President Trump in November. WITF’s Julia Agos reports on the campaign’s efforts in the key swing state.
Jill Biden is launching Pennsylvania Women for Biden – aimed at getting more women to the polls in the commonwealth.
The former second lady told supporters at a virtual event that when women turn out to vote – the democratic candidate usually wins.
“Women know how to take care of our communities. We organize. We vote. And we win elections. So get involved because this is way too important to sit out.”
She encourages women to talk to their friends and family about the election and to use their social media platforms to show their support.
Biden says her husband will work to expand access to healthcare and renewable energy if he’s elected.
President Trump won the state by 44,000 votes in 2016.
