From Zoom meetings to Facebook Live cooking shows, the chefs at Hampton Winds Restaurant in Bethlehem are creating interactive videos for their students and the community.

WLVR’s Tracy Yatsko has more on the student-run operation.

Hampton Winds is the training ground for Northampton Community College’s culinary arts program. Students learn everything from cooking and baking to waiting on tables. With the school shut down, some courses are happening online. So Culinary Operations Chef Will Rufe says the faculty came up with creative ways to interact.

“I think it’s so cool because oftentimes, people look at food as this big, big challenge and to see some of our chefs and our students posting things that are a little bit more fun, a little bit more whimsical and stuff like that kind of gives them the chance to just be like, I’m not cooking this for judgment, I’m cooking this for myself,” said Rufe.

Viewers can learn how to make fish tacos and apple turnovers. There are even videos on how to make your own vinegar and kombucha. Live videos are posted every Tuesday and Friday on Hampton Winds Facebook page.
