Bethlehem’s Wind Creek casino opened this week, after being closed for more than three months due to state shut down orders. WLVR’s Staci Inez got a look at what gaming will look like in the Lehigh Valley moving forward.

People who come to Wind Creek this summer will have their temperatures checked and they’ll have to wear a mask inside. Julia Corwin is in charge of marketing for the casino.

“The gaming experience will be a little bit different as well.. our slot machines will have some of the games turned off, some chairs removed to make sure everyone can adhere to some social distancing guidelines we’ve set up.”

Wind Creek is one of the largest employers in Bethlehem…and Corwin says they worked hard to help support employees during this tough time.

“We were able to commit to paying team members through May 31 and then we had to place some on furlough, but at this point we have about 60 percent of our staff back up and working and we’ll continue to welcome our team members back as the business picks up.”Wind Creek is not allowing buses of people to come to the casino…but Corwin says that may change down the line.
