Democrat Joe Biden rode an Amtrak train through parts of Ohio and Western Pennsylvania Wednesday. WESA’s Lucy Perkins says he attacked President Trump’s record on the economy and the pandemic.

The former vice president tried to appeal to voters who supported Trump four years ago. On Wednesday, Biden said President Trump has forgotten the Americans he said he would help, and that Trump’s time in the White House has shown Americans who he really is.

Biden also attacked Trump’s performance in Tuesday’s chaotic debate, saying Trump only focused on himself instead of talking about what Americans need. Biden said he would focus on rewarding work and not wealth by getting rid of Trump’s tax cuts which he says have only helped rich people.

On a later stop, Biden was endorsed by the international union of operating engineers, whose members work in the natural gas industry. Trump has sought to attack Biden on the issue of fracking.

Biden also visited Latrobe, Johnstown and Greensburg on Wednesday. It was his second visit to the region in a month. The Trump campaign has also made frequent stops in Western Pennsylvania.
