Researchers say Latino voters played a crucial role in President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in Pennsylvania and other states.

The data comes from a review of votes cast in precincts with the highest concentrations of Latino voters.

Sonja Diaz, the head of UCLA’s Latino Policy and Politics Institute, says Latinos helped tip the state in favor of Biden in two critical areas.

“In both Lehigh and Philadelphia counties our research from UCLA showed that Latino voters supported Vice President Biden at 75%.”

The institute’s research also finds Latinos played an integral role in Biden’s victory in the battleground states of Arizona, Nevada and Georgia.

Though Latinos largely supported Biden, some precincts in Latino-majority areas saw increased support for President Donald Trump since 2016.

Research shows Cuban Americans in Florida were the only group of Latinos across the nation that supported President Trump at higher rates than they did for Biden.
