A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction against the Trump administration, on behalf of a local LGBT organization, the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, and several others like it.
An executive order issued in late September would ban diversity training in the workforce, and label it as un-American. It also threatens to suspend or deny funds to contractors – like Bradbury-Sullivan – who offer training.
Adrian Shanker is the Director at Bradbury-Sullivan.
“We are a non-partisan organization, so we don’t tell people who to vote for. And regardless of any election, regardless of who’s the president, we believe it is central to our mission to make the world a more equitable place for LGBTQ people,” said Shanker.
Whether the Trump Administration plans to appeal the injunction in the final weeks before President-Elect Joe Biden takes office is unknown.
