Democratic candidate for mayor of Bethlehem Dana Grubb has conceded to William Reynolds.

Listen to the story.

In a post on Facebook on May 20, the former city administrator said he sent Reynolds an email since he didn’t have a phone number to make the call.

Grubb says he felt “numb” as the final votes were tallied on May 19.

“I took some time off yesterday, for myself,” Grubb says.

In the Facebook post, Grubb wished Reynolds luck and offered to meet with the current city councilman to go over some ideas.

“I’m hoping that Willie and I can sit down and discuss some of the things that he was talking about, things that I was talking about, and see if there’s a way that I can help him,” Grubb says.

Reynolds, who unofficially beat Grubb by about 1,500 votes, says he’s focused on the city’s pandemic recovery.

“We’re looking forward to moving past the primary and into the next step of our revitalization,” he says.

Reynolds will face-off with Republican John Kachmar in November.
