The COVID-19 crisis has had varying effects on young children.

But a daycare center in Macungie is working to maintain high standards amidst pandemic obstacles.

Gwen Cromer, the owner of the Learning Experience, says it hasn’t changed the quality of care and education children are receiving.

“We’re still giving the same quality care. We’re still making sure they’re learning and they’re loved,” Cromer says.

Kids are resilient and she says she has seen them adapt well to changes, such as having their temperature taken every morning before entering the center and saying goodbye to their parents outside of the building as opposed to inside their classrooms.

The teaching style has remained the same at the Learning Experience and wearing masks has become second nature to the students, Cromer says.
