Republican Sean Parnell is running for office again, this time in next year’s U.S. Senate race, and it’s likely to be one of the most closely watched races in the country.

“The fight for the heart and soul of this country is Pennsylvania. It is ground zero,” Parnell says.

Parnell is an Army veteran, Fox and Friends contributor and mortgage consultant. He first ran for office last year against Democrat Conor Lamb and lost by about 10,000 votes.

On May 11, Parnell said the Democrats’ agenda is taking freedoms away from conservatives.

“Our Second Amendment is under assault, our First Amendment is too. The Democrats are not shy about their agenda, they are talking about packing the Supreme Court. They’re not shy, ladies and gentlemen and let me tell you this: It is our duty and responsibility in 2022 to stop them,” Parnell says.

Parnell is one of several Republicans hoping to fill retiring U.S. Sen Pat Toomey’s (R-Lehigh) seat next year. Hours before his campaign launch in Allegheny County on May 11, GOP rival Jeff Bartos released a letter from other Republican elected officials urging Parnell to run for the House again.
