Blood drive hopes to address critical need

Blood supplies across the Lehigh Valley are at critically low levels and donations are urgently needed to help sick patients.
Inventory typically drops during the summer season, and Lehigh Valley Health Network Physician Michael Pasquale says the shortfall could impact those who require surgery, patients receiving cancer treatment and infants in neonatal intensive care.
Appointments can be scheduled online at GiveAPINT.org or by phone at 800-223-6667.
Dr. Pasquale stresses that donating a pint of blood takes less than an hour.
Blood drives are already scheduled at three LVHN locations, but donors are not limited to these events.
