President Joe Biden is scheduled to touch down in the Lehigh Valley Wednesday afternoon on July 28 to visit Mack Trucks Lehigh Valley Operations in Lower Macungie Township.

Listen to the story.

For Biden’s first visit to the Lehigh Valley as president he’s expected to arrive on Air Force One at Lehigh Valley International Airport around noon. He’ll then head to Mack Trucks for a facility tour.

It’s part of the president’s “Buy America” initiative, but his trip also coincides with new recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that vaccinated Americans should wear masks indoors in places with the substantial spread of coronavirus.

Though Biden is expected to stay in Lehigh County, nearby Northampton County is on that list.

State police say traffic will be tied up periodically on routes 22 and 222, and Interstate 78 throughout the day.

They anticipate delays until about 5 p.m.
