BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Heading into a huge summer holiday,  people are looking to get out and cool down. But some city and state swimming destinations are limiting who they let in.

Starting this July 4 weekend, Bethlehem city pools including Clearview, Memorial and Yosko will be open to residents only and at a limited capacity.

In a written statement, Bethlehem officials say the changes are to ensure safety after other pools closing and a lifeguard shortage are causing capacity limits.

In AllentownCedar Beach will be closed to be drained and Mack Pool will be operating under normal business hours. Allentown will continue to allow residents only.

Some state parks like Beltzville and Nockamixon will also be limiting capacity according to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
