EASTON, Pa. – A Lehigh Valley hospital, once in jeopardy of closing, is now in the midst of a two-year expansion project.

Listen to the story.

St. Luke’s University Health Network acquired Easton Hospital a year ago and will soon offer more medical services.

Linda Grass, president of St. Luke’s Easton Campus, says St. Luke’s is investing about $15 million to expand existing services and plans to offer new ones, as well.

“The primary services that are going to be opening in the summer through the next year to year and a half will be cardiology and having a cardiology diagnostic center, an orthopedic center, with our orthopedic surgeons here at the hospital, and an adolescent behavioral health unit,” Grass said.

Dr. Joseph Faccio, Vice President of medical affairs says he’s looking forward to growing his team at Easton Hospital.

“As we get more expansion, we see more physicians, more physicians bring more patients,” Faccio said.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2022.
