ArtsQuest plans free, late-night comedy shows at Musikfest

Once you stop dancing to the wide variety of music at Musikfest, you can check out a comedy show for a good laugh.

Officials say the festival is in close contact with the Bethlehem Health Department for guidance and will adjust safety plans as necessary.

Addyson Young, the cinema and comedy coordinator at ArtsQuest, is expecting big crowds for Musikfest’s late night comedy shows.

There will be a variety of different types of comedy, she said.

“We have standups, that might be something people are more familiar with whether they’ve seen comedy, where you stand up on stage telling jokes. We also have some very fun improv shows such as Spoiler Alert where you’ll see comics improvise an entire movie for you on stage,” she said.

You’ll be able to see acts indoors at the Frank Banko AleHouse Cinemas in the ArtsQuest building on the Fridays and Saturdays during Musikfest.

All the comedy shows are free to the public and on Aug. 7 there will be a sign language interpreter to translate.

On Aug. 3, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new guidelines so people in areas of substantial transmission rates — like Northampton County —  should wear masks indoors.
