Growing case counts and spread of the delta variant are prompting another Lehigh Valley college to adjust its COVID-19 policy.
Muhlenberg College in Allentown will now require faculty and staff to be vaccinated.
The college says employees will need the vaccine or be in the process of becoming fully vaccinated by Aug. 23. Classes in the new fall semester begin Monday, Aug. 30.
Students already are required to be vaccinated — Muhlenberg announced that in the spring — and have to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.
Faculty and staff who receive a medical or religious exemption from vaccines will undergo weekly surveillance testing. They’ll also have to quarantine if exposed to the virus.
Last week, Lehigh University announced it would require vaccinations for faculty and staff in advance of the Aug. 23 start of classes.
