If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, the third annual International Festival is happening 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Allentown Arts Park.
There’ll be henna tattoos, middle eastern belly dancing, Indian folk dancing, Kenyan Beef Mshakiki, and even a fashion show staged by international college students from Northampton Community College.
Michelle Zattoni is the founder of the event.
She created it, “to bring everyone together so that we can celebrate our differences and our similarities whether it’s through food or art or music. We want to make sure everyone in the Valley feels welcome,” she said.
Usually, around 1,000 people attend. This year, because of the pandemic, Zattoni says they are asking those who attend the outdoor event to practice social distancing. Masks are optional, but encouraged.
