The First Lady is taking part in a “charla” – which means “chat” or “conversation” in Spanish – at the Allentown Learning Hub.
Staff is eagerly awaiting her arrival amidst a significant police presence along 6th and Linden streets.
Allentown’s population is 52% Hispanic or Latino, and White House officials say this is an opportunity for FLOTUS to listen to the personal stories, challenges and concerns of Hispanic Americans. She’ll be joined by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, Lehigh Valley U.S. House Representative Susan Wild, and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.
WLVR will have coverage of the First Lady’s visit later this afternoon during All Things Considered and here at WLVR.org.
