Veterans Day 2021 events in the Lehigh Valley

We celebrate our veterans this week with sincere gratitude. Whether they are our moms, dads, brothers, sisters, other family or friends, several local events have been planned to honor the women and men who have served our country.

Wednesday, Nov. 10

Vietnam War Commemoration pin ceremony and Veteran Town Hall with U.S. Rep. Susan Wild, D-Lehigh Valley — 6 p.m. at the Macungie VFW, 287 Lehigh St. The ceremony will also be livestreamed on the Macungie Veterans Association Facebook page. 

Thursday, Nov. 11

The Mighty Eighth Air Force — Authors Donald Miller and Yvonne Caputo, who wrote “Masters of the Air,” and “Flying with Dad,” respectively, recount the history of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, hosted by WLVR’s Grover Silcox 7 p.m. on PBS39.

Veterans Day ceremony — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the National Museum of Industrial History, 602 E. 2nd St., Bethlehem. No admittance fee for veterans or their families.

Veterans Day program — With American Legion Post 611 10:30 a.m. at Hackett Park, Hackett Avenue, Easton. For information, call 610-703-4074 or email Joe Cuvo at 

Veterans Day Recognition Event — 11 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hecktown Oaks, 3780 Hecktown Road, Lower Nazareth Township.

Veterans Day Celebration — 11:30 a.m. at the Hope Center, 429 E. Broad St., Bethlehem.

Dine to Donate — Benefits Victory House of Lehigh Valley, 5-10 p.m. at Apollo Grill, 85  W. Broad St., Bethlehem. Reservations suggested by calling 610-865-9600.

Saturday, Nov. 13

American Legion Post 611 —  Ribbon-cutting ceremony for the open battlefield outdoor walkthrough 11:30 a.m. at Post 611, 429 S. 16th St., Easton.

Nov. 18 and Dec. 1

Vietnam War pin ceremony — 6 p.m. at Christopher’s at Knights, 1519 Greenleaf St., Allentown
