ALLENTOWN, Pa. – As COVID cases soar, keeping up with the numbers surrounding the virus is a real challenge.

The CDC, state health department, and other organizations are constantly updating case counts, vaccine availability, and hospitalizations. And the information can be overwhelming.

Listen to the interview.

This data is exactly what longtime Morning Call reporter Gene Tauber has been following since the start of the pandemic.

He recently spoke with WLVR’s Tyler Pratt about how he illustrates the impact of COVID-19 in the region with maps, charts and other methods.

Tauber says it’s about “helping people make decisions on how to reduce their own risk.”

They began their conversation looking back at when the virus first hit Pennsylvania, in March 2020.
