The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 3.8% in February, according to a new report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It’s a two-year low.
Federal figures also show the nation’s economy added 678,000 new jobs last month.
Gains were seen in sectors that are critical to the Lehigh Valley’s economy, like health care, transportation, warehousing, and manufacturing.
Combined, those industries added nearly 150,000 jobs.
The bureau’s report also notes that there has been “particularly strong job growth in warehousing and storage” since February of last year.
