Where to see free fireworks displays this Fourth of July weekend

Professional fireworks displays will take place across the Lehigh Valley this upcoming holiday weekend.

ArtsQuest in Bethlehem will host its annual celebration on July 4, and fireworks displays will be viewable in the Allentown area in two locations.

Bethlehem’s free event will start at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the SteelStacks campus. Throughout the afternoon and evening, there will be live music, food vendors and other entertainment. The Bethlehem Municipal Band will perform in a free concert at 7 p.m. at City Center Plaza. Fireworks from Sand Island begin around 9:15 p.m.

Allentown will host a free Independence Day celebration starting at 5 p.m. at J. Birney Crum Stadium. The event will feature games, live performances and fireworks in the evening.

An additional fireworks display will be offered at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township. The fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m., shortly after the park closes on July 4.

The following week, Easton will host its Heritage Day Festival on Sunday, July 10. Heritage Day marks the day the Declaration of Independence was read in Easton in 1776. 

The festival will take place ​​from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Downtown Easton. Re-enactment events, activities for kids and musical performances will be included, followed by a fireworks display.
