Countdown to Musikfest, Week 5: Performers you won’t want to miss — LISTEN

WLVR prepares you for Musikfest ’22, and it’s just days away!

Each week leading up to the start of Musikfest on Aug. 4, ArtsQuest Chief Programming Officer Patrick Brogan has been highlighting a couple of bands he’s excited to see this year.

This week, Brogan tells us about an alternative folk band from Oxford, Miss. He also highlights one of the most sought after artists for festivals and venues around the world.

Happy Landing will play the PNC Stadtplatz at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, highlighting various musical influences (alternative rock, bluegrass, pop punk, and more).

Shamarr Allen — who has influences in jazz, hip-hop, rock, funk rhythms, blues and country — will play the stage at the T-Mobile Plaza Tropical at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5. He is the lead vocalist and trumpeter of his band “Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs.”

You can hear the feature on WLVR at these times:

– Tuesdays at 12:33 and 3:33 p.m.
– Wednesdays at 4:44 and 7:44 p.m.
– Thursdays at 7:45 and 9:45 a.m.
– Fridays at 3:33 p.m., 4:44 p.m. and 8:44 p.m.
– Saturdays at 8:35 a.m.
– Sundays at 5:35 p.m.
