BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh Valley’s weeklong community theatre series “Festival Unbound” is getting ready for its fourth year.

It’s organized by Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem and performed by community members from around the region.

Performances begin Sept. 28th and include visual arts, live music, dance and community stories.

Themes center around diversity and multiculturalism, sustainability and health.

New this year is the Maafa Commemoration Project.  It’ll focus on events experienced by millions of Africans during the slave trade.  Organizers say the program aims to honor African heritage.

Performances will take place in both Bethlehem and Allentown.  Most shows are free. Festival Unbound runs from Wednesday Sept. 28, to Sunday, Oct. 2.

A pre-festival event featuring Touchstone Theatre artists and Moravian University students will be held the weekend of Sept. 16.
