Unofficial results show City Councilman William Reynolds to be the apparent Democratic mayoral candidate over former city employee Dana Grubb.
Outside of Reynolds’ West Bethlehem home just a few minutes before midnight, he was leading Grubb by more than 1,000 votes.
“You feel confident, but yeah, you’re still anxious waiting for those results to come in,” Reynolds says.
This is Reynolds second run for mayor.
“It feels really good that it looks like we’re going to have the opportunity. I think the priority is to make sure that we emerge from the pandemic as an even stronger city,” he says.
Grubb, a former city administrator, did not respond to a request for comment. However, at a debate WLVR held last week, Grubb said he would support Reynolds if he wins the nomination.
Reynolds will face-off with Republican candidate John Kachmar in November.
