Northampton County is hoping to help small businesses emerge from the pandemic with a new round of grant funding from the federal government that totals $15 million.

With state lawmakers recessed for the summer, there’s virtually no chance Pennsylvania will get cocktails-to-go back before at least the fall.

Just under half a million people are unemployed in Pennsylvania, according to the Department of Labor and Industry. It’s a steep drop from this time last year as people are now getting back to work.

The mask mandate was lifted across Pennsylvania on June 28. Gov. Tom Wolf announced last week that 75% of Pennsylvanians have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Restaurants and bars will likely not be able to sell mixed drinks to-go this summer, despite many state lawmakers who support extending the pandemic-era rule.
