Just Born says no Halloween Peeps; seasonal products to return in 2021

For Peeps fans, Halloween won’t be quite as sweet this year.
As WLVR’s K.C. Lopez explains, seasonal favorites won’t return to shelves until 2021.
The Bethlehem based company behind Peeps, Mike and Ike and Hot Tamales suspended operations this past spring due to the Coronavirus. While limited production resumed in mid-May, new protocols are delaying seasonal production and packaging of Halloween themed candies.
Matt Pye leads the sales and marketing department at Just Born.
“We end up shipping Halloween as early as the beginning of summer and we’re already making those in the end of spring. So when we came out of a six week hiatus, we knew that we weren’t going to be able to make everything. We had some tough choices.”
Pye explains the family owned business is focusing on supplies for Easter 2021. And helping the Lehigh Valley community amid the ongoing pandemic.
The company is investing $100,000 to strengthen safety-net services for communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19 and creating a grant program for non-profits that provide food and housing assistance.
