Muhlenberg College gives returning sophomores the welcome weekend they missed last year

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Beginning August 27, Muhlenberg College will roll out the red carpet to give its sophomore class the welcome they missed as freshmen in 2020.
They’re calling it “Sophomore Orientation and Reconnection” (SOAR) and throughout the weekend, the college will pay special attention to its returning second-year students.
Scheduled events include the college’s traditional flash mob dance, ice-breaking exercises, and a candle-lighting ceremony.
Incoming freshmen will have a separate set of welcome-to-Muhlenberg activities.
In terms of COVID-19 safety, the college does require all students, faculty and staff to be vaccinated unless granted a medical or religious exemption and masks will be required indoors.
