Pa. relaxes event size requirements, travel restrictions

Statewide gathering limitations to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are changing. 

Governor Wolf announced indoor events can open up their spaces to 15% occupancy regardless of the venue’s size. Outdoor events may permit up to 20% of a space’s maximum occupancy. Additionally, an order requiring quarantine after out-of-state travel has been lifted entirely.”

The relaxed limit applies only if physical distancing can be practiced throughout the space.

In a statement, Wolf cited an increasing percentage of Pennsylvanians who have received at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as available hospital capacity as reasons to revise the orders.

Health officials say they will continue to take a calculated approach to easing COVID-19 mitigation orders to avoid a new spike in cases.
