State capitals are on high alert due to fears of continued political violence

Washington D.C. was quiet over the weekend, as was the Lehigh Valley. But with Wednesday’s Inauguration looming, tensions are still high across the country.
The pictures of National Guardsmen on street corners in DC is like a scene out of a movie.
You won’t see the same thing here in Allentown; there haven’t been any threats to security. But local law enforcement remain vigilant.
Chief Glenn Granitz, of the Allentown Police Department, says he is watching the build-up to inauguration events closely, and the department is in touch with federal, state and County law enforcement partners.
At this time, however, he says there is no intelligence to indicate any local protests or disruptions are being planned.
WLVR reached out to the Easton and Bethlehem Police Departments, but did not hear back.
