More than a dozen city leaders, including the mayors of Lancaster, Lebanon, York, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, are calling on Congress to pass the Parks, Jobs and Equity Act.

Pennsylvania’s parks have been the place to be during the pandemic.

Two months ago, the city of Easton planted colorful pinwheels in seven “pocket parks” in the West Ward and South Side. The goal is to redesign the green spaces, get input from the community on what they should be.

Parks in Northampton County are slated to reopen this Friday — trails will open, but playgrounds and pavilions will remain closed.
