A new business opened this month, bringing new life to downtown Bethlehem.
Angela DelGrosso tends about 30 plants in her home, and has now found a way to share her green thumb with the recent opening of Steel City Plant Co. in Bethlehem.
Delgrosso has roots here. She’s a Bethlehem native, a Moravian College graduate, and is the vice president, Bethlehem Initiatives for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Her work with local businesses inspired her to start her own.
“We’ve been just a part of helping the business community get through this, and seeing what works and what doesn’t work. So I learned a lot from that experience that I could apply to opening my own business. And I think that if you can open a business in the middle of a pandemic, you already tackled the worst of what could come,” DelGrosso says.
Her urban plant shop sells pet-friendly potted plants and other gifts. It also offers plant-erior design whereby she decorates a space with greenery.
