State senators have approved a bill that would ready the Pennsylvania National Guard to help distribute COVID-19 vaccines across the Commonwealth.
The bill was approved unanimously on Feb. 24 after receiving the same bipartisan support in the Pennsylvania House.
The legislation requires the Pennsylvania Department of Health to work with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the National Guard to develop a plan to operate regional vaccination clinics.
Gov. Tom Wolf is expected to sign the bill once it reaches his desk.
