ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Blues, Brews & Barbecue festival returns to Allentown on July 31 for it’s 13th year.
Santo Napoli, chairman of the Downtown Allentown Business Alliance board of directors, says the crowd brings lots of customers, and local shop owners are happy to have the visitors back.
“These folks are coming to Allentown spending money, maybe they’re spending the night, maybe they’re doing things the next day. It’s really eye opening for how important this festival is for our city,” Napoli said.
Officials said they are following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines which currently recommend people wear masks indoors whether or not they are vaccinated.
The Blues, Brews & Barbecue festival is mostly outdoors.
There will be five stages, food trucks, art, and of course, booze. Napoli says the previous two festivals brought up to 25,000 visitors.
The city is offering reduced-price event parking. For $3 you can park at the city garages:
- Community Deck at 6th and Walnut streets
- Allentown Transportation Center at 6th and Linden streets
- Parking garage at 8th and Linden streets
The festival runs from noon to 10 p.m. in the 600, 700 and 800 blocks of Allentown and 7th Street, north and south. For a complete list of shows and details visit the event website.
