President Joe Biden delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress on April 28, the eve of his 100th day in office.

Listen to the story.

Pennsylvania Democratic and Republican leaders had differing opinions of Biden’s plans.

Biden laid out an ambitious spending plan that proposed investing in social programs that would be financed by taxing wealthy Americans

Lehigh Valley resident Bernie Comfort, is the Vice Chairwoman of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania. She says the plan panders to the far-left faction of the Democratic party.

“This is an aggressive bankruptcy plan. He proposed an incredibly, over the top $6 trillion now, tax and spend proposal that will cripple our economy,” Comfort says.

U.S. Rep.Susan Wild (D-Lehigh) sees it differently.

“I don’t see anything that he said as being radical. I see it as being necessary, and most of all I see it as being an investment in America,” Wild says.

Biden said his plan would expand family leave and reduce the cost of child care, health care, and a college education.
