ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The city of Allentown will host a free, inclusive soccer clinic for children aged 8-14 on July 16.
The clinic will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon at J. Birney Crum Stadium.
Allentown’s Recreation Program Specialist Chris Hendricks, who is also the event organizer, said the clinic will teach different soccer skills and drills, while also accommodating children with disabilities.
“We’ll make sure we have extra volunteers onsite that are familiar with people across the spectrum,” Hendricks said. “Whether it’s emotional, intellectual or physical disabilities.”
The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Allentown Youth Soccer Club and other local volunteers to put on the clinic.
The event will allow Allentown children to play and learn about soccer, Hendricks said, regardless of ability or skill level.
“Our goal is to keep the kids active and engaged and have a good time,” Hendricks said.
