ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Masks are now optional on the Lehigh Valley’s public transit system.
The Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority (LANTA) announced on April 19 that the rule change applies to both riders and employees.
The change was made following a recent federal court ruling which struck down a Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mask mandate on airplanes and mass transit.
In a news release, LANTA said it consulted with other public transit agencies in the commonwealth before making the decision to change its mask policy.
