Allentown, Pa. (WLVR) -The Lehigh Valley Photography Club’s FOCUS exhibition opened Sunday in Allentown. As WLVR’s Jen Rehill reports, the 3rd annual juried show is the group’s most expansive to date.
From elephants and European church cathedrals to diner signs and abstract works that look more like paintings than photographs, the Focus exhibition offers a striking variety of perspectives reaching far beyond the Lehigh Valley.

Speaking from the packed reception on the lower level of the Allentown Art Museum, organization president Bob Becker says with the rise of digital photography – there’s real value in seeing members’ work on display.
“I think you lose something in photography if you’re not doing some printing, right? Just the quality – it kind of transforms from an image to art when you really look at it. You become responsible for every portion of the image,” said Becker.

Becker says the show featured the work of 80 members this year, and new to the competition, judging was divided into seven categories, including nature, travel and man-made.
The FOCUS exhibition is on display through March 1st.
