Pennsylvania has cast the state’s Electoral College votes for Joe Biden.
All of the electors were Democrats. Officials highlighted the diversity of the group and noted the event took place on the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote.
Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald delivered the results at the Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg yesterday.
“The Electors of the Commonwealth have cast 20 votes for the Honorable Joseph R. Biden for President of the United States and 20 votes for the Honorable Kamala D. Harris for Vice President of the United States.”
Republican electors from the state also met Monday. They cast quote “conditional votes” for Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Saying in a press release, the move was designed to support any future legal claims about the election. The Pennsylvania GOP says they did it at the request of the Trump campaign, which has sued the state repeatedly, and lost, baselessly claiming election fraud.
