President Donald Trump accepted the nomination Thursday evening from the White House during the final night of the Republican National Convention.

Tom Carroll is an RNC delegate for Pennsylvania’s 7th district. Speaking to WLVR News Wednesday, he said he initially was excited to attend the convention before it dialed back in-person attendance.

“We’re still engaged at every level here trying to get the word out about how important this election is. I think it’s the most important election since the civil war here in America in terms of what direction this country is going to take,” said Carroll.

Carrol says while he was disappointed to not attend, he along with the other Republicans and donors in the area he’s been in contact with have enjoyed the virtual speeches.

“These last few days have been amazing: the speeches, the diversity, the energy and the message of hope that’s coming out of this convention.”

Carrol says his duties are now over and will not focus on the campaign to trying to help President Trump win his 2020 re-election bid.
