In Bethlehem, a surge in demand, capacity issues, and COVID-19 safety protocols mean high school freshmen who fell behind were shut out of summer school.

The Bethlehem Area School District has added a new position to address the social and emotional needs of students and staff. The move comes as schools bring kids back to full-time in-person learning this fall.

This year, there wasn’t much that was standard about K -12 education except for standardized tests. Those are still on the books.

The Bethlehem Area School District is doing its part to get everyone in the Lehigh Valley vaccinated by hosting free clinics next week for students and parents on May 10.
