In Bethlehem, a surge in demand, capacity issues, and COVID-19 safety protocols mean high school freshmen who fell behind were shut out of summer school.

In districts across the Lehigh Valley, teachers are using the next two months to help kids catch up on learning lost to the pandemic.

For schools, it was a year like no other and the summer will look different too. Some districts will use June and July to try to make up for learning losses caused by the pandemic.
