Despite high gas prices and the lingering pandemic, a near-record number of people are expected to travel over the July 4 holiday.

Summer travel is picking up as more people get vaccinated. The American Automobile Association (AAA) expects travel to hit pre-pandemic levels over the next few months.

Starting in Feb., the CDC will require masks to be worn by passengers traveling into or within the U.S., including on airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis and ride-shares. They will also be required at airports and subway stations.

One doctor recommends Thanksgiving travelers get tested twice: when you return home and then again 3 to 5 days later: “This will notably increase the chance that you detect the virus over a longer incubation period.”

As businesses reopen and people begin to try to get back to their normal lives, the Lehigh Valley International Airport is telling its passengers they will get them safely from point A to B.
