International airports across the country are conducting increased medical screenings to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
But as WLVR’s Tracy Yatsko reports, that’s not happening yet at Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Colin Riccobon is the public information officer at LVIA.
“We are not among the airports that are being required to do any screenings. I can tell you though the airport authority in this instance has done things on their own,” says Riccobon
Riccobon says they’re taking precautions, educating staff and following guidelines from the Allentown Health Bureau, and the World Health Organization.
“We’re doing the increased custodial cleanings throughout the airport, heavy traffic areas. We’re also talking to our staff and encouraging people to wash their hands,” says Riccobon
Riccobon says they’re also asking staff to stay home if they’re not feeling well. And he says, so far the airport hasn’t seen any drop in passengers due to COVID-19.
